Coolaney , County Sligo, Ireland – Video 1991 & 2019 …

In November 1991 I walked around our village, Coolaney County Sligo in the Northwest of Ireland, with a on the shoulder VHS Camcorder and filmed some parts of our village

– Today 29th November 2019 some 28 years later I walked around with a digital camcorder and tried to retrace the steps to show how the village has changed in nearly 30 years.

The original VHS tape got very mouldy and I was lucky to manage to transfer anything from it at the time , that’s why the 1991 footage has lines and is jumpy.

Apparently when I filmed in the video in 1991 there was only 100 people and now these days I reckon there are around 1,000 population living in Coolaney.

I was going to do some kind of split screen with 1991 on the left hand part of the screen with 2019 on the right but I am not that good with video editing so I just put them fading into from old to new. Hope you enjoy
